A second bank has been robbed in as many weeks at Chartwell in Hamilton.
Police were not ruling out the possibility the Westpac robbery is linked to the earlier one at ASB Westfield.
Police were called to the Westpac bank about 1.45pm yesterday after a man passed a note over the counter demanding money. He fled on foot in the direction of the Lynden Court shops. He was wearing a black beanie, black jersey, full length green cargo pants and dark- coloured shoes.
Fake Franck MullerActing Detective Sergeant Daryl Smith said police were yet to determine the ethnicity of the man from the security footage. However, it appeared he had a fair- coloured wispy goatee beard.
MexicoMr Smith said one of their main focuses was to establish if there were any links between yesterday's robbery and the ASB one. "We're keeping an open mind in regards to if the two incidents were carried out by the same person."

Detective Constable Brendon Davis, who is in charge of the ASB investigation, said there were a lot of similarities to the previous robbery. Both men handed over notes demanding money and both fled on foot. The men captured on security footage in both robberies also looked similar and wore similar clothing.
The police have called for any witnesses who had not already been interviewed to come forward.
